As Amazon engaged to acquire Whole Foods Market, they encountered a technological challenge provoking the question: “How can our inventory systems, which have not handled perishable goods, integrate with WFM systems to manage produce?” – Dustin and a small team worked within Whole Foods HQ understanding the complexities of their inventory management and distribution process to equip Amazon with a roadmap for post-merger system integration, a reengineering of produce management using AI to predict seasonal and spoilage trends, a robotic + tablet-based in-store inventory analysis hardware/software, and a technology-backed plan to meet the U.S. Food Loss and Waste 2030 goals.
